what are you lot trying to copy/motility as this can happen with locked/organisation files and information technology comes up with a admin box but for some strange reason dont alway sown some fourth dimension appers behind other windows

it happens with normal non locked files. There are no Windows in the background.

I'm wondering if converting the file system of the external
drive to NTFS would improve the event.

Information technology doesn't thing if an external drive is part of the operation. internal and even the same drives (only different partitions) cause this problem. The external drive i mentioned is already NTFS

I would advise you lot to check the upshot in rubber mode. Refer the following link:

Step i:
Refer to the link to kick the computer into safe mode and check if you are getting the aforementioned error:

Step ii:
If you lot are non facing the aforementioned issue in safe mode, then perhaps, there might be some other application might be responsible for this issue.
Permit'south perform Clean Boot on the computer and bank check if that helps.

I am having the exact same trouble. Large file transfers slow to a halt. When I try to cancel the box doesn't go away. I booted into safe mode and large file transfers work fine. This is all subsequently performing a complete format and reinstall of windows 8 using only the drivers Microsoft automatically installed. Aid would be appreciated so I don't have to utilise prophylactic mode for file transfers. Thanks
